I pulled 60 red Pontiac plants today. have 227lb of potato's most look great but 8 potato's have small white bumps on them. After researching I realize they are perfectly fine. Lenticels.
I am going to store some in basement, have 16 pints in pressure cooker now, going to do another 16 tonight, boiled 40 lbs for 5 minutes and am going to freeze dry in family size portions.

I still have 37 plants growing. over all a good 1st year

on almost all plants i have pulled up, there has been several great sized potato's and then multiple very small potato's is this just the way it goes or do I need to add more organic matter next year?

Sounds like you did great! I'm betting you will really enjoy those pints through the winter.

Good harvest 3.8 pounds average per plant. That is great. I am waiting for my tops to die off before digging. Probably ten more days. Had a good rain today.
