Hi.
I planted a Lantana camara in my garden. I know it can be invasive but AFAIK it's native or close where I live (Mexico). That said, I found out it is allelopathic and I suspect I might be inhibiting a Ficus triangularis that I planted next to it because it has been stuck at its original pot size.
I like the Lantana because hummingbirds constantly drink from its flowers, and I'd like to keep it if there are plants unaffected by it. Do you know some? If it turns not to play well with others, I'll take it down in autumn when sun does not reach it and weakens anyway.

I have a lot of lantana here...and honestly did not know it was allelopathic. I use it as a pollinator attractor especially butterflies...and it is highly effective.

I have some close to a couple of citrus trees/bushes and a rose garden area and neither appear to be adversely affected by the allelopathic tendencies of Lantana. In fact, in one spot some juniper has overtaken the lantana. An AI search yielded that "wheat" is least affected by lantana, FWIW.

If it is allelopathic and science says it is, it does not seem to have a lot of adverse effects here.

p.s. tomorrow I will post a picture of how a juniper has overtaken a lantana...so much for allelopathic.

A Lantana plant completely surrounded/overtaken by juniper in my garden. I severely cut back the juniper this spring to protect the lantana from suffocating.

Does this look like allelopathic characteristics on lantana?

Oh, I see. Thank god I can ignore sensationalistic search results and enjoy the Lantana. I'll move the Ficus triangularis somewhere else (it might be too shaded where it is now) and plant other shrubs.
