Plants and Allergies

In the thread about lavender, Shellyann36 referred to the possibility of an allergic reaction to using too much lavender.

This got me wondering about other edible plants and allergies.I'm not aware of having any allergies myself, but allergies can develop at any time and I'm curious to know what to watch out for.

Do you know of any plants, especially edible ones, which can cause serious allergic reactions.

I think just about anything can lead to allergies. I know people who're allergic to strawberries, apples or tomatoes.

Well, I have to follow a gluten-free diet, but it's not really an allergy.
As far as I know, eating nuts can be really dangerous to some people. In the most serious cases, a nut allergy can cause a life-threatening allergic reaction
