I agree with DiggersJo, nothing regarding technology is safe from failure or hacking.
As I said, nothing is impossible. But it's ironic that your entire life revolves around technology and you don't seem to realize it. Your health records, dental records, banking info, vehicle registration, driver's licence, insurance.. your entire identity is kept safe via technology and backed up by clouds yet you are worried about someone hacking a cloud storage to get your pics, even though there are an infinite amount of pics online available to anyone with internet access? I know that banking etc is encrypted and far more secure but I still don't think getting your pics is on any hackers to-do list.
When I first joined this forum I had two pictures 'stolen' that I'd posted here. By accident I came across them in two different sets of internet images. They were only pictures of plants but that was enough to keep my images stored on my personal computer, and have an external back up that I use regularly.
It's a good idea to never post personal pics but I don't understand why you would care if someone uses some pics of plants that you took? If anything I would think it would be nice to think that out of the billions of plant pictures online available to the public, a couple people preferred your pics to use. I know it's not my business, it's just how I would see it.
I'm not interested in AI. All my pictures are in their natural state. I can't see the point in altering them and creating a fake image of the original shot. In fact many that I see on the internet are so over enhanced they're not worth a second look.
To each there own but personally I find amateur photography to be dull and boring.. that's why professional photographers make money off their photos and amateurs get a couple of thumbs up for their pics if they are lucky. We live in the age of technology now where a boring pic can become vivid and bursting with color, modified in ways that was impossible to do 10 years ago. Most people embrace that. Doesn't mean you have to but I wouldn't worry about anyone wanting to hack a cloud storage to steal your pics when anyone can create anything they can possibly imagine via AI.
But aside from all that, as far as the OP I don't see any reason to pay for prints when you can get the same results by buying a cheap printer at Walmart with photo paper and make your own for a fraction of the price.. unless they are a professional photographer planing on selling them in an art gallery. But that's just my opinion.
