Hi
I bought an olive tree last summer and is on my patio in a pot. I did not water it over winter as autumn/ winter /spring was very wet here. In the spring, the tree dropped quite a lot of leaves and the leaf density is lower than when I bought it. I am watering it twice a week now, but less if it rains. Some of the leaves went yellow before they dropped off.
It has now grown some new leaves in spring and has lots of little flower buds on it, but the leaf density is less than last summer. It did also produce a small number of olives last September, though I was not expecting any in the U.K. climate
I am in Ruislip in outer north west London so it is not particularly cold here.
Any thoughts on what is causing the leaf loss?
Jonathan
