How can I stop mushrooms growing in my soil and are they harmful to my plants (fruit and veg)
Mushrooms are the best sign of a healthy soil. Mushrooms are the fruiting bodies of fungi. These fungi are breaking down the organic matter in the soil which feeds your plants and are completely harmless to your plants. Welcome them

If you use a catch bag with your lawn mower you will reduce the about of organic matter. The mushrooms love organic matter and only live where there's plenty. Or you can rake the organic matter up and move off the lawn by hand. Like Chuck said I don't think its a problem.

I love seeing a cluster of mushrooms popping up here and there in my lawn. gives the lawn character. also different mosses here and there, some wild violets etc. Just green lawns, so boring.
