Hello all! I purchased a small money tree a few months ago. Lately it has been dropping its new leaves. I thought maybe it was because the plant didn’t have enough sunlight or humidity . So I moved it to a window in our bathroom. It has continued to drop leaves unfortunately. I found a good amount of water in the bottom of it’s decorative pot. But the soil was completely dry. (I dumped out the extra water) Could that be causing it’s leaves to fall?

Money tree plants need regular watering or the required amounts of water, indirect sunlight, and steady temperatures to propagate. The absence of any of these three elements may cause the leaves to fall.

If you can remove the grow-pot from the decorative one, put it in a sink and really soak when you water it. Let it drain completely and return it to the decorative pot. This will keep the roots and soil from drying out. Check the moisture level once a week and water when the top 1" is dry.

Indoor plants don't like to be moved. Water your plant and always empty the drain tray after every watering. IF your plant sets in water for any amount of time it will cause a leaf drop. Water your plant as needed and let the top inch dry before watering again.
