Can someone explain why this thread has been closed? I never posted on it, but loved looking at the pictures from others, always providing new ideas.

I myself also stumbled across the 'magazine' thread, but only after it was shut. I also found its closure very odd. It seems to be a unique situation in the forums, as far as I know. One possibility is that the poster who started the thread chose to leave the Forums and requested that 'their own personal' thread be closed, but that is just conjecture... and I admit it doesn't quite fit with the abrupt manner in which it was closed.

Here is the thread in question, if anyone is curious about we are talking about.

Sadly there's a bit of a story (and good reason) behind the thread closure - that member also dropped me a message to say they are leaving the forum.

It was fun having a general thread like that, so I'm very happy if you want to kickstart a new thread for a pt.2 version of it .

The member who started the 'Magazine Style' thread, also had a whole series of other very long threads before that called the Gardening Diaries 1, 2, 3, & 4. You can do a search for 'Gardening Diaries' if you want to find them.

The one problem I see with all-encompassing threads like that, is that all of the topics in the Forums get poured into a single thread, one layer deeper, where it is harder to find what one is looking for.

Yes I think it's better to have single threads.
