hello, a lovely neighbour gifted me this to put along my front garden bed, but I have no idea what it is or what to do with it and too embarrassed to ask. I am not a gardener! What is this plant? Do I plant it as one clump or tease it apart and plant several? I had thought she had said she was giving me seeds but then found this on my doorstep. They are so kind and I want to definitely use this properly.

Hello and welcome to the forums
It's a Star jasmine, usually a climber.
Here's a video that will help you, just have to adjust the growing times to your country. Because it's bare root I'd cut it back so that it won't lose a lot of moisture after planting and plant it the depth of the roots.

It is NOT Trachelospermum. It is Euphorbia hypericifolia. You plant it either way, whole or teased apart. Cut them back by about half and water well.

That is not one I know, but some euphorbia has an irritative sap. Worth wearing gloves to cut it back and handling the cut parts.
