Hi all - was gifted this plant last summer and it's not looking so great after a winter. Is there a chance of saving it?

Yes, it is alive although some of the branches may be dead. Gently crush the brown leaves and see if there is any green growth underneath. If there isn't any, that branch is dead and should be removed. The branch in the front is still alive, while the ones on the left look dead. The ones on the top and right sides may or may not be alive. You might want to find it a more protected location next winter to avoid more damage and possible loss of the tree.
