Is this whitefly damage on my sunflowers?

Found these white insects on the underside of my leave. Not sure if they are causing the hole damage?

I don't think whitefly did the damage as shown in picture #1. That looks more like snail or slug damage. In picture #2 you do have a whitefly problem although whitefly usually fly off when you come close. I would spray them with a spinosad based product.

Yes I bought some pyrethrum the other day, will give the leaves a good spray.
As far as the holes in the leaves, do they get attacked mainly at nighttime?

Yep, mainly at night but really at all hours.
