I bought what I thought was a baby fiddle leaf fig about 3 months ago. It’s currently 18 inches on the tallest trunk. I’m a first time fiddle leaf owner and did not know that there were dwarf versions on this tree when I bought it. Since purchasing, I have started to doubt whether I bought a regular or bambino. Any help would be appreciated. I really wanted the regular that would grow into this particular space.

@Tara M , Hello

I think it's the bambino version.

With that said, I have some parameters which can tell the difference between the regular and the bambino version:
(Taken from this article - https://patents.google.com/patent/USPP9323P/en).

"It was found that the new cultivar of the present invention possesses the following combination of characteristics:

(a) exhibits an extremely compact growth habit unlike that typically exhibited by Ficus lyrata,

(b) forms uniformly green leaves with light venation,

(c) forms smaller and thicker leaves than are typically exhibited by Ficus lyrata, and

(d) forms extremely short petioles that commonly are considerably longer in Ficus lyrata."

Give the plant some time to grow more, and check the parameters. Do let us know your final conclusion.

Good luck.
