How many French tarragon plants should I get?

I read that tarragon plants can get pretty big and I only have a small garden, but I keep seeing offers for 3 plug plants everywhere. Is 3 French tarragon plants too many, or should I just get 1? If anyone has pictures of their individual plants, I'd really appreciate it.

When I Googled I found people saying it grows between one and two feet tall. Then, looking for the spread I found a BBC Gardener's world reference that said 90 cm tall with a spread of 40 cm, 90 cm is more like three foot tall. I guess it depends a bit how good your soil is and how good a gardener you are but I reckon you should allow for two foot high and a foot across.
