You'd think Google would have the answer to this question, but I can't find it anywhere!
I planted a bareroot sea buckthorn whip 2 years ago. This spring it was still just a little twig, but during summer it's shot up to about 5 foot tall and very bushy. I would estimate it must have put on 2 feet in height.
Does anyone have experience of these trees? Is it reasonable to think it might make it to 7 foot next summer?
I planted about 100 bare root plants along my back fence at the same time as I planted this one. They were all tiny at the time. Most of the trees along the back fence are between 6 and 8 foot now. So they've grown much quicker than documented.
When you see growth rate for a hedgerow tree is that growth rate when mature? Do they tend to shoot up quicker in the first 2 or 3 years?
