Help with plant removal

I’ve recently purchased a home and the previous owner described this as her “water plants.” With a small child running around I’ll have no choice but to remove it. Need help with the most efficient way of removing this from my yard. Thank you!

Hello, and welcome to the Forums.

This appears to be a Goldenrod (Solidago sp.). I suppose it is gone by now, but I would think it could have existed happily with a child present.
