Hanging baskets dry too fast

In my hanging baskets, before I put in the soil, I have from an old set of dishes a small size bowl which helps keep some water for the plant. It does not totally the entire size of the bottom, about 1/3rd of it. Seems to work for me.

Sounds like a similar idea to the one above. So it can drain some but won’t drain as quickly. Thanks for sharing.
