Green going brown and too soft

How can I help this plant? It was coming out of the soil! It is labeled assorted foliage and still in original pot

It is a Philodendron ‘Birkin’. They prefer moderate to bright light and need to dry out about an inch down before you water again. What exactly is it doing that is a concern?
