Grape cutting: what to do until spring?

I took a cutting in late summer, put it in a glass of water, and now have exactly four roots.

what is the "best practice" for keeping this little guy healthy until I can put him in the ground next spring?

Keep it in a bright window and maybe put a tiny bit of liquid fertilizer in the water once a month.

Not the best time of year for it to be starting life, but cpp gardener's advice seems sound to me. What is it? can you take a second one later so it starts sprouting roots in Spring? I usually take a few, and lose some.
