Hi! Back again with a question. I buried an old ginger that I found in my mother's cupboard a few months ago. Surprisingly, it grew, and is now quite tall. I was wondering how long it takes for a ginger plant to bear flowers. I read that ginger flowers are very beautiful, and they can be used for landscape despite the strong gingery-small.

Your location has a lot to do with how long it will take to see a bloom on your plant but it should be within 10-12 months.

Here in the UK home grown ginger seldom, if ever, flowers.
Light and temperature levels don't suit, even in a cold greenhouse.
It WILL grow, but rarely flowers.
