Giant tattie shaws!!!

Hello again, I registered last year but forgot my details!.
I've never seen growth like this year, my tattie shaws are now just over four feet and rising and shading out everything else. I wonder if it will affect the growth of the tubers if I cut the shaws down about halfway??.

Holy smokes you got a pretty garden. I wouldn't cut off 50% of any plant for fear of killing it. Some plants will allow 1/3 cut off but not every plant. If you don't care about losing the plant then you have nothing to lose.

Don't forget that the stems and leaves are what feed the plant and thus produce the tubers. Removing them could affect the crop by reducing the amount of food the tubers are getting.
