When I planted this Cedrus Atlantica Glauca Pendula, surely there's a more simple name, I planned to have this small circular cottage garden with a variety of lanky, pretty, swaying flowers. I planted a circle of ammeria around the border, not sure how to spell it, which has pretty pink flowers on stalks, Spanish Shawl as ground cover, with several Winter Elegance hellebores, Barlow Black Aquilegia, some bulbs I've forgotten the names of and Pink Crested Madeira (Argyranthemum). They are all there, under the Pink Madiera. It may well look pretty but certainly not as i pictured it. Plants do have a mind of their own and knows best!

Oww, so sorry to hear about that. It's so annoying when things don't turn out the way we wanted to in the garden, I had many moments like those as well. But at least it looks very pretty, still a shame the other things you planted can't be seen :(

I often think that plants are like pets:) They do what they want to do.
But I must say that those pink flowers in your picture look really beautiful!:)

Oh they're pretty, but the tree in the middle looks comically small in comparison and they've all but taken over. Are you gonna move them elsewhere?

Pretty color pink, were you looking for a plant that is shorter in height and a thicker tree? I can see what you wanted to see as the final picture, it may take a few more tries to get what you want. Good luck.

I'm happy with the tree in the middle Pat. It's the surrounding plants I pictured differently. Once they've stopped flowering I'll cut back and probably move elsewhere and really check growth habits with my new choices. i'll keep you posted.

Yeap Cereus. I think I'll have to move them once they've stopped flowering. Hopefully the ones underneath have survived.

Gardening is never boring, is it?:D You plant something and make plans, but there is no way to tell how it will turn out. I like it in a way:)

Yes this is a trial and error hobby. Some plants you think will work great do not have the same plan that you have and refuse to co-operate with you. What do you think you will try next in this space?
