Last fall I found a bunch of dried up flower heads that someone had thrown out. I was fairly sure they were zinnias. I took them home and dried them out for another month. Then I sealed them in a jar and put them aside till spring. Since I have an abundance of rocks on my property I decided to make a ring of them and dump the free seeds inside. I turned the ground over and dumped the seeds. Since then I haven’t touched the bed. It would look much better if I had time to get the grass trimmer out. :grumpy:

Zinnia (Zinnia elegans) certainly are carefree and joyous Summer color. Wonderful nectar plants for hummingbirds and butterflies as well.
