Been listening to the album and heard Richard on the radio and didn't know that in the early days before digital that they didn't have enough tracks to record everything in stereo, so some instruments had to be recorded in mono.

I've been listening to the first album of Carpenters called Ticket to Ride
It was first called Offering. But it didn't do well.
I think they're brilliant and how Richard arranges it.

One of my favorites is California Saga by the Beach Boys. It was released in '73, on their Holland album. Definitely not the typical Beach Boys stuff....though I enjoy most of their other work, too.

A couple of favourites from the days of the big band singers.

The latter was used as the close out recording in an episode of "Cold Case" a long running drama series of about 100 episodes.
It was the first time I'd heard it.

Each case investigated could be from anything from the late thirties to 2010. Each episode closed out with a recording from the time of the murder.
The endings have become a cult, lots of them posted on YouTube.
The characters are seen as they are now and as they were, at the time the crime was committed.

But this was my all time favourite, the comments might bring a tear to your eye.

From my collection of "Mostly forgotten Girl Groups of the Sixties."

I've been adding some tracks to one of my jukebox wall boxes that play mp3s through my vintage hi-fi.

This one.

Margaret Mandolph, she would have been about thirteen or fourteen when she recorded this.

Clydie King

Both, sadly are now dead.

The Palisades (also recorded under "The Cookies")

A Carole King song, (she sang back-up). She gets everywhere doesn't she.?
