We bought a dwarf peach tree from a fella who said it would produce that year (it was 6 ft tall and 1 inch truck with branches). It was in a 7 gal pot when bought and I moved it to a bigger containter that first year. It did blossom, but no fruit. I moved it to the ground the next year and again it grew larger, looked good, blossomed and no fruit. We figured it may be in shock still from the move. This year, its little bigger and blossomed and now we are seeing 6-8 small peaches on the branches. Not a bunch but at least its finally got fruit set. It is the only peach tree we have within 50 ft in the back yard and the 2nd one is too young to even blossom yet anyway.

My question, is there something I can spray like Surround Kaolin Clay powder on the leaves and peaches to protect them (I hear this is good for apple trees too) ?? I cant seem to find any Surround anywahere online to buy that isnt $100 for 25 lb bag, which dont really want to do. Can I just get regular Kaolin Clay Powder and mix with water and spray? I think Surround has something extra in it to help spray with pump sprayer. The peaches are just golf ball size now and dont seem to be taking off, so we are crossing our fingers.

We are in Zone 8B. HOT

Just happened to watch a video on this subject. I've never used it nor where to find it. Surround apparently does have something extra done to it but I don't know what since I didn't watch the whole video.

Some varieties of peach trees are self pollinating and some are not.

Right, we have no idea which variety it is. We do have 3 more peach trees in the back yard but too young and too far away I think.

Have you used kaolin clay by itself to mix with water and spray peaches or apples to protect them ? I cant find Surround less than $80 just to spray 6-8 peaches.

I've never used that before.
