Direct sow in outside containers after frost date

Hi All, If i missed indoor seeding-germination process, Can i start sowing them directly outside in containers now (crossed the frost date) ?. Having seeds of vegetables like Tomato, onion and flowers like marigold, cosmos. some herb seeds too!
