I'm remembering vaguely something with new strawberry plants cutting off the first little strawberries. Does this sound familiar or am I remembering wrong? These are brand new in pots. I'm in Southeast Coastal Georgia if that bears anything.

What type of strawberry?

Since you are getting pretty close to June, if your berries are June bearing you may want to preserve any of the flowers/forming berries.

If your plant is everbearing, you can always trim back the flowers or berries in order to encourage more vegetative growth prior to your large summer harvest.
