While I certainly appreciate the effort and expense that goes into a show car, it seems to defeat the purpose of a car.
Vehicles are meant to be driven. Whether a daily, cruise, racer or the final act of defiance (derby!) Let them run.
There's a local fellow with a 75 Hurst Olds that just sits in his garage. I talked with him one day as I was gassing up my Roadrunner. He was surprised I drove it as much as I do and wondered why. I responded, we both feel better when out on the road.
I asked why he doesn't drive his car? He complained about hard starting, poor running, things that don't work right. I pointed out that most if not all were symptoms of sitting around.
