About what % of your peas float? What's the meaning of Black-eyed Peas ( Vigna unguiculata ) floating?

Let them soak for 5 minutes and they will sink. These seeds probably will not germinate as they are not fully mature and have small pockets of air inside them, but, as the seed fills with water they sink. Floaters don't mean much when you are going to eat them, only when planting them. Percentages mean nothing when eating them but when planting them always skim off the floaters asap. The same thing applies to most seeds.

So being they soaked over night they're pretty much a little bag of air and trash as food value is concerned.
