Anyone recognize this plant?

Canada zone 4b currently about 2ft tall

Could be bay or laurel. Take a leaf and rub it hard to see if it smells nice please. Bay smells nice and are very good for cooking! But can't see very well. Could be neither!

Bay or laurel could be. Can u share the flower of this plant

Unfortunately no flowers on the plant - the leaf does not smell like Bay leaves when crushed. :/

Someone on the forum said that you can take a pic of the plant and use an app to find out its name. @BradinMichigan might know how. As I don't have data and son is using iphone, we can't use this app.
