I'm not inclined to post any non-gardening topics here...but with this international community I was wondering if any members followed the World Cup.

Some upcoming games I know we have in country members:

England vs Croatia J17
Canada vs Qatar J18
USA vs Australia J19
Scotland vs Morocco J19
Germany vs Cote d'Ivoire J20
Spain vs Saudi Arabia J21
France vs Iraq J22

I probably missed some. If you have interest and feel inclined to discuss, here's a thread.

Personally, I'm anticipating the USA vs Australia match...should be fun. How about it Aussie gardeners?

Haiti supporters are very unhappy about their defeat to Scotland. They have set up a petition demanding an examination of the referee's decisions. With any luck Brazil will take Haiti to the cleaners in their next game.

I have never played a game of football, I used to go swimming instead during sports lessons. I rarely watch it, and it is a pain reporting it has taken over all the 'real' news. Never mind, it will be over soon.

The fix is already in Messi (Argentina) not even carded for raking his studs down the back of an opposition players leg.

Not me, but all my family are football/soccer supporters. Being British they will support the home teams here as well as the teams in their adopted countries - America and Canada. Also Germany, my husband is half German.

A bit like here on the forum, it is very interesting to see the stadiums and some of the views are stunning. The weather is also of great interest with the storms in some of the locations. A lot of things are so different, it's nice to see and hear about it.

The attendance at these early round games has been stunning to me. Sellout crowds. Was thinking of going to the Germany first round game but tickets were hard to come by and started at $700...and they were playing a tiny country team.
