Most definitely not any type of cuphea. Us up north have to treat it as an annual.
The flowers look like Weigela, but the leaves are wrong.

Most every Weigela ones sees out there is Wine & Roses. That is one beauty you have there! Now I want one.

I have another puzzle. What is this? I think it's some type of Hawthorne. It was on a large tree in the Pacific NW.

I have been puzzling over this one for a long time. My guess was black Hawthorn, but I just looked up common Hawthorne and it looks like that too! Very much so! Thx for the idea! I will learn more about common Hawthorne.
