One of my chores before putting the garden to sleep is to remove the mint. We'd like to transplant it around the house eventually.

Is this an OK time or should I wait till spring?

It's best to wait until spring, especially if you have harsh winters. Mint needs time to establish its roots, and transplanting it before winter can risk frost damage. In milder climates, fall transplanting might work, but spring is generally safer for the plant's survival and growth.

It's such a hardy plant. As long as you don't transplant in the middle of summer I wouldn't worry. Hard to kill mint
