Will a cutting polinate the parent plant?

If I have a plant (I actually have a cherry tree) that is not self-polinating, and I take a cutting of that plant which successfully roots and grows, will these plants be able to polinate each other?

I ask because the cutting is a "clone" of the parent tree, and if it's not self-polinating, then I guess it might not work ... ? or ... ?

The same variety will not pollinate itself if it is not a self pollinating variety. You can however graft another variety that blooms at the same time to pollinate it and only have one tree.

Sounds like a great reason to plant more fruit trees.
Yes, the only problem is they are exepensive and time consuming!

... and risky, for me! I spent about 5 hours building a fence around this one to protect it from the deer. And even then I just have to hope that a moose will not decide to just walk straight through it and undo all of that. So it's not as simple where I live as just digging a hole. :)

But yes, I agree with the sentiment. The more the better. :D
