Another of our - very healthy - Bearrs Line.
This one has been fed a steady diet of leaf litter and pine needles.

Early last season we planted sweet pea bush (three of them are shown) on the hillside leading down from our home. This hillside was essentially bare, so we decided to leave the fallen eucalyptus and pine tree material on the ground from last fall, where it continues to break down from the rain, reducing run off, keeps the ground temperature moderated, and improves the soil quality – the soil life – rapidly.

The small ground green growth are a mixture of wildflowers and micro clover – nature will decide what grows where. 😊
