I thought it was an azalea, but I didn't think they produced berries?

This is Indian Hawthorne (Rhaphiolepis indica) in the Rose family (Rosaceae). This evergreen shrub is native to southeastern Asia, eastern China, Hainan, Taiwan, and Japan, but not India.
