Depends on the sunflower, mammoth sunflowers are shortlived after flowering.
2 days? No way here...20 days at least, and more likely 30 days. I've grown them here for decades and never have seen one die 2 days after blooming.

I planted squash and pumpkins, I can identify most of it but unsure of one type. Anybody know.

According to my dated picture the full bloom photo was June 21 it's current status has been like this for 5-7 days.
So 20 days fits the timeframe.
