they couldn`t survive this heat - it is the worst heat since we moved here - almost out of my rain catch water and no rain in site - already talking about next year not growing all the beds - my wife said after watering she can dig down 2 inches and the ground is pure dry so in this heat i don`t know how it`s gonna survive even the tomatoes don`t look like last year

This is why I do a lot of container gardening. Even though my beds look like the were left in the toaster too long, my container garden looks great.
