Howdy all, last year I noticed a bevy of worms on my holly hock leaves, eating away. This year I found them also on my miniature rose (unsure exactly what it is, it was here when we moved), and I don't know if I missed it last year or if they're new. Either way, what are they, and how do I get rid of them? I'm unsure how big they get because I kill on sight...so far I've only noticed them get maybe half an inch or so long? And maybe as thick as an average spaghetti noodle.

The small green "worms" on your roses are likely rose sawfly larvae, also known as roseslugs. You can hand pick them and spray some dish soap in water on the leaves to help get rid of them. The best treatment I know is to use the water hose and jet spray them off the plants on watering day. They hate water exposure.
