Sweet pea bush?

Has anyone ever heard of a sweet pea bush?

The flowers resemble a sweet pea but the plant has canes that are covered in soft type thorns. It spreads under ground. It will grow around 4 feet tall. It's hardy in zone 2 -7.

I found it in a nursery advertisement from the 40's but I lost the catalog and the name. My grandma grew it when I was a child and it has not been seen in my county for at least 40 years.

Any information is appreciated.

How about Caragana arborescens, Siberian Pea-shrub? I vaguely remember it from Michigan Bulb catalogs in the Seventies.

I think I remember it having purple flowers but your guess has the right shape.

The flowers on this plant are the same as I remember but the limbs are wrong.

Thanks for the suggestions. I found someone who says that they have one. I am going to look at it today and I will post a picture if it is the one.
