Sprouting Avocado Seedlings

I have recently attempted starting avocado seedlings to sell and grow, but I have been having many problems getting the avocado seeds to sprout. I mainly attempted the avocado seedling in water, but have had no luck. Does anyone have ideas on how to sprout my seeds?

Sick in a plastic cup with soil. Keep damp in a warm place and keep damp. They take a long time to sprout but always do so.
