So they should be sown in spring when the earth remains damp for longer and I should avoid sowing them in summer when it's much dryer, right?Three things matter when sowing grass seed. Temperature, soil contact and moisture. Most grass seed is temperature sensitive when it comes to germination. Seed must have good contact with the soil and the soil must stay moist until germination and until the grass has established roots
Most grass seed is temperature sensitive. It depends on they variety. For instance Bermuda will not germinate below 15C. They all need moisture no matter what. Know which grass you wish to grow and its optimum germination temperature. So they should be sown in spring when the earth remains damp for longer and I should avoid sowing them in summer when it's much dryer, right?
