Skin broken on green tomato

Son was helping me pick tomatoes and pick one orange and green with nickel size hole in skin. Last time this happened it spoiled before turning red. Any suggestions or fried green tomato my best option?

Some holes in fruit are made by insects. Some are caused bybacterial infection, like the tomato in the kitchen showing first signes of going mouldy. Some damage is the reult of growing conditions. Save the fruit and let it ripen off the vine. Green tomatos make good chutney.
