There are very few houses in Britain that have mail boxes and usually only in rural locations. Letters are posted through a box in the front door and postmen/women will knock to deliver parcels, or leave somewhere safe, or with a neighbour.

We've got a post box on the wall from when we had our dog and since he's no longer with us, it's still carried on being used.

When I lived in the bush (Oz) we didn`t need a newspaper holder - it would be lobbed over the car roof across the land up in the general vicinity of the front door of our shack! Skill
