Saw this bush on our walk today. The more mature plants did not seem to be very tall. Anyone know what they are. Thanks.

This is Palibin Lilac (Syringa meyeri var. meyeri 'Palibin', now usually named as Syringa pubescens var. pubescens 'Palibin'). This Lilac is only known from cultivation, and was first introduced western horticulture in 1909 from plants grown in Beijing gardens. The leaf venation of the Palibin Lilac is almost palmate, making it quite distinct from other pinnately veined Syringa.

I absolutely like the color of the florets of the lilac blooms.
