Hello to all,

I have some pests that are just starting to eat away. Have on lower leaves of tomatoes, eggplants and on some gourds. Have had similar issues/pests last year, completely killed the eggplants. Peppers almost untouched. This year turned and rotated all beds. Using diatomaceous earth currently. Could it be flea beetles? Please tell me your thoughts. Appreciate the help!

I am not really conversant with your pests, but do you get slugs where you are? You don't seem to have seen anything, they come out at night, and the holes look quite possible. What sort of edging do you have? They will hide under that if they can. Do you have a compost heap, it wants to be at least eight feet away from anything you are growing, it's slug heaven. Pests have their own particular ways, some leave shot holes, some always eat the outside edge, slugs come up from the ground and do that sort of damage. Take a torch out after dark and have a look, a bottle of hot water to drop them in too if you find any.

Yes, it could be. The signature is round holes on young leaves or seedlings. I don't see that much damage in your photos but it's worth keeping watch on it.

use a little neem oil and also having bird feeders up and keeping them around seems to help here
