old automatic opener ( black bar ) is from a Crittall branded greenhouse that’s at least 20 yrs old I was told by the seller, on the black bar written in black in tiny writing is .. 2021 ORBESEN Teknik DK ( I think that’s what it says I had to use magnifying glass and a torch to try make it out ! anyway does that help ??

Sorry I can't help with that bit.

But I can offer the idea that you want to physically especially observe it working during your extreme heat hours. That's when its going to matter. If your plants get too hot ... not good. Typically that would be 1 to 4 PM where most climates get their extreme heat. And that's when there's more stress on the plants and more water usage also. You can account for that on watering timers if you use those.

I'm more worried about watering timers being very precise and how I want. And to a certain extent you can use the watering timers on your watering system to cushion whether or not the heat venting is working right on the window openers.

What temperature ranges are you experiencing? That might be helpful to know to help give you advise tweaking this.

I wish you success and luck.

thanks i have simply decided to but another brands entire openers ( the metal bits and the black bars) i will replace the entire old unit as the original manufacturer charges too mush for shipping from denmark, i dont use water timers i tend to water my tomatoes after the sun is almost down say 8 or 9pm in uk when no direct sun is on plants, were in a brutal heatwave in england 38c last 4 or 5 days due to ease up soon , plants get bit droopy but mostly recover with water i give them, also used boric acid yesterday on them
