Penrhyn Castle

Take a walk around this grand Victorian pile. It was built by one of the Slate mine owners in imitation of a proper Welsh Castle.
The grounds are lovely and there is a Steam Museum as well.

I love getting a glimpse into these castle grounds. I need to share more pictures of castles here in Japan that I have been to. The gardens and their styling are so different in comparison and I think it's neat to look at the differences!

What a beautiful castle and it is like stepping into a story book or something!

A fairy story built on the short brutal lives of the men and children who slaved in the slate mines. One heck of a weekend retreat which is all it was used for.

I feel very sorry for those people who slaved in the slate mines!
But it doesn't change the fact that both the castle and the gardens look really beautiful and I'd love to visit them too

The inside of the Castle is as beautiful as the outside, but you are not allowed to take photos in there.

The castle grounds are beautiful. The history of the land I am sure is brutal as life at the time it was built was hard. I do appreciate the history shared here.
