It only words if you are very exact and very honest when you log your foods, for some reason I am not very honest when using apps like ''MyFitnessApps'', maybe because many of the foods I like are not even there and adding a recipe there is such a pain! With an actual food log it feels different to me, it's much easier =D I know that food logging apps works for some people very well, but not for me at all. Now I can finally see where I am failing ;)
I've never actually tried to use fitness apps for keeping a log. Although, I am going back to the gym again(I missed it and it's been far too long) starting tomorrow, and have been thinking about using a fitness app to keep track of the exercises I do, so I can find my limit as well as track my goals. I can imagine adding foods to it would be frustrating, though. I'm sure there's something online you could use as a nice alternative.

There are a lot of factors why a certain person becomes obese. Slow metabolism, sedentary or inactive lifestyle , hereditary or it is in the genes, hormonal problems, intake of some medicines that can cause gain in weight and other causes. That is why it had not something to do with the food intake only and we must considered this factors why one person becomes obese.

I use my food log as an alternative :) It's easier to just log all my foods truthfully. I gave those fitness apps so many tries, I guess they are not for everyone, definitely not for me :( Congrats on starting working out again! I was reading about all the benefits of exercising the other day and wow! I read exercising helps to relieve stress :D I tried it today and I do feel less anxious =D By the way, what kind of training are you planing to do?

I'm the same, usually. I probably won't use the fitness app much, just because it just doesn't seem all that efficient to me. Maybe I'll just push myself a little bit, I don't want to push myself TOO far by trying so hard to reach a goal I may have set too high for myself at current status(I have a tendency to do that). And I know, it's fantastic! I am in such a better mood when I work out regularly, I had to get back into it. Plus I feel like I'm actually taking nice care of my body. And I'm not really doing a specific training, it's mostly lifting weights and cardio, although I have been thinking about taking kickboxing classes.

Nice! Cardio is great for our hearts! :) I'm doing the same, minus weight training because I don't go to any kind of gym. But I have heard that many women do weight training and they do fantastically well :) And hahaha, for some reason when I felt more bother when I reached my calorie intake goal on that app than when I do on my food log, for some reason the food log is more relaxing (I use my diary for that).

Do you use an activity tracker? I'm thinking of getting one in the future, because well I need to keep myself motivated :D I was checking a really cool list of activity trackers the other day: http://www.wareable.com/fitness-trackers/the-best-fitness-tracker

Just an observation. Anybody can lose weight. It is easy by various means 99% by reducing food intake. BUT keeping it off is the real challenge.

One must change their complete diet. Losing weight then ingesting the same food that got you to the overweight condition is self defeating.

Only about 3% of people who lose weight keep it off at the present time.

One advice my gym trainer gave me about food was to drink lots of water before taking in any food also he said, "Do you eat because you're bored or because you're hungry?" Because there is a huge difference you don't want to gain unwanted pounds just because you have nothing to do so I picked up the habit of drinking tea or knitting when I'm bored and lo and behold I lost 5 pounds just sitting down.

Hey, if the food log is more relaxing for you I would suggest just keeping up with that. It's helping you at least keep some of the control, and relaxation does more for the body than it would to be stressed about using an app, haha.
I don't use an activity tracker. I prefer not to, just for the simple fact that although I do have goals I want to set for myself, If for whatever reason I am not able to do something as much as I wanted to, I'm not going to disappoint myself in the fact that I didn't get to. As long as I stay active enough in each little focus I'm okay with that.

I have gained a substantial amount of weight this year, and I blame it on having not much to do and being bored. I recently quit my crew team, which was the main source of physical activity to me, so adjusting to a schedule without three hours of physical activity has shown in my weight. I need to start acting healthier and realizing that eating when I'm bored is no good for me.

If you get bored, you can always just take a nice walk :] It actually can do wonders to keep yourself active, and it helps keep you calm and collected. It's more therapeutic than you'd think.

Controlling weight is not only about shedding the pounds. The loose skin issue is probably of more pressing concern. I suggest there is little room for humor about weight control.

I've never been obese, in fact right now I'm probably the smallest weight I've been all my life - but I still battle with the loose skin after being pregnant! My tummy just isn't the same and it absolutely makes me self conscious, as I'm sure it does for a lot of moms out there...

There is an excuse for pregnancy. Not much one can do about it. But loose skin due to over weight for long periods is probably preventable to some degree. Anyway one must be conscious of the problem if losing weight. Not too much loss suddenly. Probably around two pounds per week at the most.

You’re spot on! Obesity is a complex issue with many contributing factors, not just food intake. It’s important to consider the full picture. I gained and lost weight several times. It is not easy, both physically and emotionally. But I do my best to manage it. I often address club automation customer service for fitness management. They’re always ready to assist, which makes staying accountable in my fitness journey easier. But of course, it is important to monitor your diet.
