Nitrogen fixers in the garden

In our place, we use beans and desmodium as nitrogen fixers in the garden. These are intercropped with grasses for maximum yield and optimization of soil chemistry. They fix nitrogen into the soil which benefits the grasses by supplying them with nitrates.

Another good option is sunflowers, they are also very good at fixing nitrogen in the soil ans they are a good source of oil and bird seeds.
