I have a total of 5.
Starking Hardy Giant
Gem
Barlett
20th century
Shinsui
The Starking Hardy Giant is the only one flowering and producing. Suppose to have a pollinator but none that I know of near by. It has been transplanted 3 times so its 4 years old now. All but the Shinsui were planted last year, Shinsui this spring.
The asian variety have a natural resistance to fabraea. Fabraea prevents the European varities from thriving in my area. Replaced a Moonglow with the Shinsui this spring. Its doing way better. The moonglow did horrible and it suppose to have some resistance.
The Gem was recommended to me. The Gem and Bartlett have shown resistance but not as good as the Asian varities I currently have. As of now those do ok so they can stay.
The deer are eating the branches poking out the wire. Hope to enclose it soon.
